Albany is a city at the southern tip of Western Australia. With plenty of galleries, museums and restaurants, world-class wine, food, fishing, surfing, swimming, diving, hiking, four-wheel-driving, camping and other activities are all within minutes of town.

Middleton Beach is Albany’s main beach in the middle of King George Sound and a 5-minute drive from the middle of town. Good for swimming, picnics, walks and if you're very lucky, whale watching. Albany now being a prominent spot to watch migrating humpback and southern right whales along the dramatic coastline. Tours depart from the harbour between June and August.

The beautiful Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound surround the City of Albany in the Great Southern, a historically significant region of Western Australia. The King George Sound was the site of Western Australia’s first European settlement. The impressive ship on the Albany foreshore is a full-scale replica of the Brig Amity, which brought the first settlers and convicts to Albany in 1826 on Christmas Day.
